Shelby Farms Park Conservancy (SFPC) is the nonprofit that manages and cares for Shelby Farms Park and Shelby Farms Greenline in Memphis, TN. SFPC is responsible for daily management, fundraising to meet operational budget needs, setting the vision for the Parks future, and stewarding its natural resources. About Shelby Farms Park
At 4,500 acres, Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee is one of the largest urban
parks in the country.  With a visionary master plan designed by James Corner Field
Operations, it's poised to become one of the best. 
 
Today, the Park features miles of paved and unpaved trails, dozens of lakes and ponds, the internationally recognized and sustainably designed Woodland Discovery Playground, a buffalo herd, the FedEx Event Center, a water play sprayground, an outdoor event stage overlooking an 80-acre lake, a treetop adventure course and more. 

Position Summary
Event Support Representatives provide customer service & on-site supervision of client events at Shelby Farms Park venues.  This position requires weekend availability (Friday - Sunday), and occasional weekdays.

Duties + Areas of Responsibility
  • Open and secure facilities before and after events
  • Direct and coordinate activities with food service and other vendors
  • Oversee basic needs & requests of the client during an event
  • Set-up and break down chairs, tables, stages, audio-visual and other equipment in accordance with client contract requirements
  • Explain & uphold policies and procedures for use of the facility and grounds.
  • Respond to emergency situations by determining and implementing appropriate procedures
  • Inspect facility before, during and after function for cleanliness and safety, touch up areas as needed
  • Produce event reports, noting any significant problems
  • Drive a golfcart
  • Work within reservation software to review information and book new clients
  • Answer phones & take detailed messages for Staff within reservation software
  • Assist with additional events and S+E special projects, as needed

  • Organized with an attention to details 
Physical Requirements
  • Physical ability to perform tasks outside in extreme conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
