JACKSON, Tenn. – April 12, 2018 - In first quarter of 2018, Omega Recycling Solutions attained R2:2013, ISO 14001:2015, and OHSAS 18001 certifications. The electronics recycler, headquartered in the West Tennessee city of Jackson, which is centrally located between Memphis and Nashville, is the first in the city’s history to hold all three certifications. The company began pursuing this endeavor at the beginning of 2017, developing and implementing an integrated environmental, health, and safety management system with an emphasis on information security, with assistance from Jackson based consultant firm, ESH Management Systems.

R2 (Responsible Recycling) is the leading standard for the electronics repair and recycling industry. R2 is rigorously and independently audited, emphasizing quality, safety, transparency, as well as environmental and social responsibility of its processes and facilities. The Environmental Protection Agency has conducted studies on the effectiveness of R2 certification programs and it concluded that the programs are “working well and [that] the standards as a whole are being implemented transparently, consistently, and achieving the desired results.” 769 facilities are currently R2 certified in 21 countries.
