IMC COMPANIES JOINS BLOCKCHAIN IN TRUCKING ALLIANCE (BiTA)

(Memphis, TN) – Memphis-based IMC Companies, a national leader in intermodal logistics, has recently joined the Blockchain in Trucking Alliance (BiTA), an organization dedicated to the development and adoption of blockchain applications in the trucking, transportation, and logistics industries. Blockchain technology offers an alternative to the current transaction and record-keeping mechanisms that are widely used today.

“We are excited to join BiTA because blockchain technology allows us to conduct digital business with higher levels of security at lower costs which will encourage the exchange of data while increasing the supply chain efficiency,” says Joel Tracy, Chief Information Officer for IMC Companies.  “We believe that blockchain technology will play an increasingly important role in the coming years as it evolves from a digital currency infrastructure into a platform for digital transformation that will benefit the entire trucking industry.”
