Job Description

The Operations and Development Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. This multi-faceted position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can efficiently manage office operations for a small office (6 team members), support fundraising and development activities, recruit new donors, and communicate with existing donors. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Reports to: Executive Director

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Office Management:

  • Oversee daily office operations to ensure a well-functioning work environment.
  • Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of office equipment.
  • Implement and maintain filing systems and office organization.

 

Development Coordination:

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of fundraising strategies and campaigns.
  • Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, donors, and sponsorship opportunities. (No grant writing required)
  • Compile data for funding proposals and assist with storytelling for funding opportunities.
  • Compile data and weekly reports for City of Memphis funding compliance.
  • Maintain donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Organize and coordinate Annual 6x6 Canvas for a Cause fundraising event and donor engagement activities for Public Art Collector giving program.

 

Qualifications:

  • Nonprofit experience desired.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in office management, development, sales, or customer service roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills to create documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and use of donor management software or similar platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.

Compensation

Salary range for this position is $40,000-$45,000 and is commensurate with experience. A full benefits package, including 401k (non matching), 13 paid holidays-additional day for your birthday, 15 vacation days, and 8 sick days. Two remote work days each week and free employee only medical insurance (BCBS) .
