Name: Eclectic Eye presents “Works on Paper” by Jennifer Balink
Date: September 21, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
"Works on Paper" is a collection of artwork inspired by a beautiful essay titled, “Between Solitude and Loneliness.” Balink derived these pieces from that essay, along with rivers, trees and open spaces, noting they were a bit haunting. These experiences left a permanent, lingering impression along with thoughts about solitude and how it can often be a comfortable feeling that is all portrayed in her artwork.

Jennifer Balink is a native Memphian, independent thinker, problem solver, public speaker, writer, photographer, business strategist, tennis player, dog lover and home-trained cook. She is executive director of Kindred Place (formerly The Exchange Club Family Center), a nonprofit agency dedicated to ending family violence. She lives in Midtown Memphis with her husband, children, three rescue dogs and a very fat black cat. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in art and archaeology (Visual Arts Program) from Princeton University.
