Walkin’ in Memphis, an awareness walk for Down syndrome celebrating WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY, will kick off its eighth annual fundraiser event at 5am on March 21st to raise $21,000 while Josh Greer walks 21 miles across Memphis.
The walk starts at the Memphis/Arkansas Bridge and will end at the Renasant Convention Center located in downtown Memphis, with a finale celebration. The finale celebration is open to the public and is a free event. Food and drink are available for purchase, a portion of which will benefit DSAM. There will be a silent auction for bidding, games for kids, and other activities, as well as a silent auction, while viewing the lighting of the Memphis (Hernando/Desoto) Bridge and the Bass Pro Pyramid into the blue and yellow colors representing Down syndrome. The party will be at Renasant Convention Center, 255 N Main St, Memphis, TN 38103, starting at 6pm. Free underground parking is available for attendees.
